Developmental Ages and Stages: ‘How-To’ Strengthen Cognitive and Language Development – Session 3
The sessions will discuss the various stages of a child’s development during the first 3 years and the associated milestones. Sessions 2 and 3 will demonstrates brain-boosting activities based on the science of brain development to strengthen children’s attention, memory and thinking skills (cognitive development) at each stage of development. Participants will also learn how to actively engage with the children to stimulate a child’ language growth and build communication skills using routine activities at home and also while on-the-go. Tantrum, Tantrum, Go Away! Calm-down, Calm-down, Come My Way! Cultivating Self-regulation Skills – Session 5
Learn simple and easy-to-use strategies on how to respond to young children’s tantrums using Calmness, Caring and Choices. Augmented with a variety of behavior scenarios, the session will illustrate how to use problem-solving and positive approaches to address problem behaviors of children and strengthen their social-emotional competence and self-regulation skills. Adults will learn how to model self-regulation and calmness when confronting children’s problem behaviors. Focus: Birth to Five Years

STEM-based (Science, technology, engineering, and math) thinking makes them better problem-solvers and discovery learners.
